What ZappInvoice is

ZappInvoice is an invoicing, payments and expense-management app for Australian sole traders and small businesses. It covers one connected workflow: create a quote, turn it into an invoice, take the payment, and capture the expenses — from a phone, without moving between separate tools.

The problem we're trying to solve

Small-business admin is rarely hard in isolation. Writing one invoice is easy. What makes it exhausting is the seams: a quote in one app, an invoice in another, a card reader from a payments company, and receipts in a glovebox until the accountant asks. Every seam is a place to re-type something, and every seam is a place to forget something.

Most accounting software solves this by being comprehensive — a general ledger, a chart of accounts, and a setup process that assumes someone in the business enjoys bookkeeping. For a one-person business that is the wrong trade. You end up paying for depth you never use and still doing the parts you find annoying.

ZappInvoice takes the opposite approach: cover the money-in and money-out workflow that a solo operator actually runs every week, and make it fast enough to finish between jobs.

The pay-off comes at the end of the quarter. Because GST is captured on the invoices you send and on every receipt you scan, the records are already in the right shape — so BAS reporting is a read-out rather than a weekend spent rebuilding the year from a shoebox. ZappInvoice is not a tax agent and does not lodge anything on your behalf.

Who it's for

ZappInvoice is built for people who are the entire business — sole traders, tradies, contractors, freelancers and owner-operated micro businesses. If you do the quoting, the work, the invoicing and the paperwork yourself, you're who we're designing for.

It is deliberately not aimed at businesses with a finance team, complex payroll or multi-entity accounting. Those businesses are well served by existing accounting suites.

Why mobile-first matters

A desk-based tool assumes you do admin at a desk. Most of the people we're building for don't have one, or don't sit at it until the evening. Doing the invoice on site, while the job is fresh and the customer is standing there, changes when you get paid — not just how pleasant the paperwork is.

Our product principles

• Fewer apps, not more features. The value is in the workflow being connected, not in any single capability.
• Fast enough to actually use. If sending an invoice takes longer than a coffee, it won't happen on the day.
• Built for Australia. Priced in Australian dollars, aimed at Australian sole traders and small businesses.
• Honest about what it does. We'd rather describe the product accurately than claim more than it delivers.

Where we're up to

ZappInvoice has not launched yet. There is no App Store or Google Play release, and we have no customer numbers, ratings or reviews to show you — so we're not going to invent any. If you'd like to be among the first to use it, join the early access list and we'll be in touch when it's ready.
